LEONGATHA - Episode #1.1 “The Bus”
Denny Finch (Chris Gibson), a thirty-something, recently single, failed filmmaker, has been asked by his cousin Darryl (Bryce Hardy) to film his upcoming wedding. Begrudingly Denny makes his way to the country town of Wonthaggi and after an altercation with a local antique store owner (Bob Franklin), he is met by his extended family aboard a minibus driven by his cousin Roo (Kate Mulqueen). The bus idles, ready to transport the gang to the nearby town of Leongatha where his cousin Darryl’s wedding is taking place but they can’t leave yet as Denny’s grandmother Lorna (Maureen Andrew) and Uncle Jim (Glen Turner) are running late. While he waits, Denny is asked to be Darryl’s fill-in best man and he meets a mysterious stranger aboard the bus who introduces herself as Mazzy (Sarah Ranken).
